Walk for End Plastic Pollution

ROPE team support and endorse End plastic Pollution campaign and always stands with the environmental activism. Plastic is versatile, lightweight, flexible, moisture resistant, strong, and relatively inexpensive. Those are the attractive qualities that lead us, around the world, to such a voracious appetite and over-consumption of plastic goods. However, durable and very slow to degrade, plastic materials that are used in the production of so many products all, ultimately, become waste with staying power. Our tremendous attraction to plastic, coupled with an undeniable behavioral propensity of increasingly over-consuming, discarding, littering and thus polluting, has become a combination of lethal nature.

Plastic pollution is posing a serious threat to our city as well as to marine life and its ecosystem. The issue of plastic pollution is a major concern and is worsening due to an inadequate solid waste disposal system in the city. Most plastics that escape in the atmosphere of the city become a serious threat to our lives due to their non-degradable nature. No efforts been made and none of awareness created for masses to handle this evil dead. Plastic is a real time threat to our future generation and are morally responsible for it because the concerned authorities are not paying any attention on it.

GMI in its awareness campaign for end plastic pollution walked for a symbolic protest along with civil society, students and environmental activists. May it be capture the attention of media and responsible entities to respond this innocent effort? Hashoo Foundation well supported this event.
