Reiki Attunements

Reiki is a healing technique from Japan that alleviates stress and promotes relaxation. Reiki practitioners apply healing treatments by laying hands on the body or run their hands just above a person’s body in their energy field. Treatments produce feelings of peace, security and wellness. The belief is that life force energy surrounds all living things, and if it is left unbalanced, it causes illness and  stress Rei, meaning “God’s Wisdom,” and Ki, meaning “life force energy,” are the two Japanese words that form the term Reiki. Mikao Usui is the founder of the modern natural healing method of Reiki. Becoming a Reiki practitioner requires an attunement process with a Reiki master. Ceremonial in nature, this attunement allows the student access the universal life force energy. Reiki healers do not require only formal certification to practice, but there is some specific knowledge must acquire to perform the hand placements. Aspiring Reiki healers do not require any previous training or knowledge to receive Reiki training Reiki arguably focuses more on spiritualism and faith than science and does not have a large base of knowledge or intellectual requirement for healers to gain expertise in the practice. Reiki teaches itself once you are initiated to the Reiki energy.
